Position Summary

The Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of weavix™ by performing accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting other functions within the finance team. This role is an individual contributor and serves as a partner to the team and Chief Financial Officer in maintaining strong financial controls and supporting strategic decision‑making.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct financial analysis as needed to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize resources, and drive efficiency.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable and payable as required to ensure timely collections and payments.
  • Prepare and support tax calculations and filings, including sales/use tax and other reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Provide support for special projects, financial analysis, and strategic planning initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with minimum of 3 years of practical accounting experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and GAAP.
  • Knowledge of sales and tax filings with previous experience required.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and experience with software system implementation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Able to adapt to an always evolving, fast paced environment with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to resolve complex issues or escalate as necessary.
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
  • Excellent time management and project management.
  • Incredible precision, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with accounting and operations teams. Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as support and cross-train other team members.
