Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network Job Description
- Oversees the full lifecycle of grant funding for various DWIHN initiatives, from identification and proposal development to submission, negotiation, and post-award administration.Leads and contributes to grant writing efforts by identifying funding opportunities aligned with DWIHN's mission, researching funder priorities, and developing compelling grant proposals.Manages all administrative responsibilities related to grant funding, including budget tracking, financial reporting, and ensuring adherence to grant guidelines.Completes all reporting requirements as designated by the funder and the organization, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Plans, implements, and coordinates all activities of grant programs to meet project goals and objectives.Monitors grant expenditures and ensures financial compliance.Serves as the primary point of contact for grantors.Assists in the assessment and management of the Grants Programs' overall effectiveness and resource utilization.
- Programmatic Leadership and Coordination:
- Provides operational support and coordinates activities for various grant-funded projects at DWIHN.
Collaborates with internal and external agencies to develop and schedule activities and meet project goals.Provides guidance to internal teams on the implementation of grant-funded initiatives.Leads system-wide efforts to effectively implement and sustain grant programs, fostering a culture of achieving program objectives.Coordinates conferences, trainings, and seminars related to grant-funded programs and their respective focus areas.
- Supports the identification of needs and data requirements for grant proposals and reporting related to program outcomes.
- Works closely with the Project Director and Chief Medical Officer to ensure strategic alignment and effective execution of grant programs.
- Grant Management & Writing:
- Extensive knowledge of grant writing principles, including needs assessment, objective setting, budget development, logic models, and persuasive writing.
In-depth understanding of the grant funding landscape, including federal, state, and private foundations, and their respective application processes.Proven experience with grant reporting requirements and data management for grant compliance.Experience with SAMHSA grant requirements and reporting is strongly preferred.Experience with project management, including planning and implementing project activities, is preferred.
- Knowledge of DWIHN policies, procedures, and practices.
- Assessment skills.
A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Nursing (a Bachelor’s Degree will be accepted), the Human Services, the Social Services, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in behavioral healthcare, community mental health, or a related field with a significant focus on program coordination or management.Previous experience with SAMHSA grants with knowledge of required reporting and data requirements.Experience with project management, including planning and implementing project activities.Demonstrated success in securing significant grant funding.
- One (1) year of full-time paid experience in grant writing, grant management, or related fundraising activities.
- One (1) year of full-time paid experience in one of the following areas: crisis services, trauma informed care or suicide prevention, combined with demonstrated strong grant writing and management experience.
A Valid State of Michigan clinical licensure: RN, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LLP or PhD. (A limited license will be accepted). [Note: This license may be more critical if the role retains some direct clinical oversight for specific grant programs. If the role is purely administrative/management, this might be adjusted depending on organizational structure.]A valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.
