Emergency Preparedness & Safety Coordinator

The Emergency Preparedness & Safety Coordinator will provide essential operational support across emergency management and environmental safety initiatives.
This role combines data management, policy coordination, project support, and safety program administration to strengthen organizational readiness.
The successful candidate will help maintain compliance, improve processes, and support teams in preparing for and responding to operational challenges.

Accountabilities:

The Emergency Preparedness & Safety Coordinator will support emergency preparedness and environmental safety functions by managing operational processes, documentation, reporting, and coordination activities. The role requires strong organizational skills, discretion, and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams.

  • Support emergency preparedness and environmental safety operations through data entry, tracking, reporting, and information management.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute reports using data collected from various sources to support departmental decision-making.
  • Participate in the development, review, and maintenance of safety-related policies and procedures.
  • Lead or contribute to department quality improvement initiatives and organizational safety programs.
  • Manage updates, training coordination, and scheduling activities for executive emergency response programs.
  • Conduct policy and regulatory research to support compliance and operational improvements.
  • Coordinate projects and initiatives, ensuring timelines, documentation, and deliverables are effectively managed.
  • Oversee contract review and evaluation processes, including documentation and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive, privileged, or security-related information.
  • Provide support to internal teams and stakeholders with a strong customer service approach.
  • Travel occasionally and support non-standard work schedules when required to meet operational needs.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting safety, emergency management, healthcare, or project coordination activities. Strong organizational abilities, technical proficiency, and effective communication skills are essential for success in this role.

  • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in safety, emergency management, project management, healthcare, or a related operational environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling records, reports, and documentation.
  • Ability to work with confidential information while maintaining professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset with effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze information, and support process improvements.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational requirements.
