This role is designed for an experienced DevOps professional supporting secure, reliable, and automated technology environments within a government-focused setting. You will contribute to system integration, deployment automation, infrastructure management, and continuous delivery practices. The position combines hands-on engineering with strong security awareness and requires familiarity with IRS systems, protocols, and compliance requirements. You will work across cloud platforms, containerized environments, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD tooling to improve operational efficiency and reliability. Strong troubleshooting and automation skills will be essential for resolving complex technical challenges. - Design, implement, and maintain DevOps solutions focused on system integration, deployment automation, and operational reliability.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting to streamline infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable software delivery.
- Implement and manage containerized workloads using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Work with orchestration platforms, including Kubernetes and Docker Swarm, to support scalable application environments.
- Manage cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform.
- Configure and maintain DevOps and configuration management tools including Jenkins, Ansible, and Puppet.
- Apply security, compliance, and operational best practices relevant to IRS systems and government technology environments.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, deployment, integration, and automation issues and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, security professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth system delivery and operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in deployment processes, infrastructure reliability, automation, and DevOps practices.
- 8+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a strong focus on system integration and deployment automation.
- Active IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance or higher.
- Strong knowledge of IRS systems, protocols, security requirements, and government technology environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong scripting and automation experience with Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration technologies.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and practical experience with Terraform.
- In-depth understanding of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and configuration management.
- Experience with tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to independently resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of secure engineering practices and the ability to operate within regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Full-time position supporting government and mission-critical technology environments.
- Salary range of $100,000–$150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
