This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Lead / Technical Architect based in the United States.
This is a remote senior-level opportunity for an experienced technology professional to provide hands-on technical leadership and architectural direction for enterprise application solutions.
You will guide development teams in designing secure, scalable, maintainable systems aligned with enterprise technology standards and business objectives.
The role combines architecture, technical project leadership, engineering excellence, and stakeholder communication.
You will translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for executives, managers, and cross-functional teams.
A key focus will be modern architecture, secure software development, operational readiness, and responsible adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
You will collaborate across engineering, architecture, project leadership, security, and environment management functions to deliver cohesive solutions.

- Provide technical leadership for one or more application teams, setting architectural direction, engineering standards, design guidance, and delivery expectations.
- Translate complex technical concepts, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations into clear, actionable information for executive and management audiences.
- Partner with business analysts, technical project leaders, and managers to define solution scope, technical approaches, effort estimates, and delivery plans.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects and technology leadership to ensure solutions align with established architecture patterns, integration standards, security controls, and platform requirements.
- Develop and maintain solution architecture documentation, including reference architectures, integration and data-flow diagrams, environment topologies, and architecture decision records.
- Lead or participate in code reviews and technical design reviews, ensuring solutions meet expectations for quality, security, performance, testability, and maintainability.
- Establish engineering best practices covering CI/CD, branching strategies, testing, release readiness, operational support, and development standards.
- Identify technical risks and systemic issues early, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventative improvements.
- Support environment management activities, including provisioning, configuration, deployment coordination, release readiness, and alignment between environments and delivery requirements.
- Ensure applications follow security and compliance expectations, including secure coding, auditability, vulnerability management, access controls, and appropriate data handling.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend improvements that are practical within organizational standards and technical constraints.
- Promote responsible AI-assisted development by identifying opportunities to accelerate analysis, documentation, code and test generation, refactoring, code reviews, defect triage, and operational troubleshooting.
- Establish appropriate guardrails for secure and compliant AI adoption, including protection of sensitive information, validation of AI-generated outputs, and adherence to approved tools and policies.
- Track and communicate measurable outcomes from modernization and AI enablement initiatives, such as improved test coverage, reduced defects, shorter delivery cycles, and lower operational effort.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, accountability, collaboration, and high-quality delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; candidates without a relevant four-year degree may qualify with an additional four years of relevant professional experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience as a Technical Lead, Technical Architect, senior engineer, or comparable technical leadership role focused on enterprise application design and delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executives and senior management, simplifying complex technical topics and presenting clear options, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations.
- Strong experience guiding development teams through architecture decisions, implementation approaches, engineering standards, and quality expectations while remaining hands-on when necessary.
- Proven ability to conduct effective code and technical design reviews with a focus on readability, security, testability, maintainability, and performance.
- Strong knowledge of modern architecture approaches, including layered architectures, microservices or service-oriented architectures, event-driven systems, and API-first design.
- Solid understanding of enterprise security and compliance fundamentals, including identity and access management, least privilege, encryption, audit logging, vulnerability management, and secure development practices.
- Experience working cross-functionally with business stakeholders, analysts, project leaders, enterprise architects, governance teams, and technology leadership.
- Familiarity with environment management and release-readiness practices across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Strong technical documentation skills, including architecture diagrams, technical standards, decision records, and executive-ready summaries.
- Working knowledge of AI-assisted software development and the ability to establish practical safeguards that improve productivity without compromising quality, security, or compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills, with a continuous-learning mindset.
- Ability to evaluate new technologies and apply them appropriately within enterprise standards and operational constraints.
- U.S. residency history must meet applicable Public Trust investigation requirements, including the stated residency and international travel limitations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust determination and complete required onsite fingerprinting and background investigation procedures.
- Willingness to undergo an investigation that may review criminal history, financial conduct, foreign influence, and other relevant adjudication factors.
- Ability to work remotely within the United States, with less than 10% travel expected.
- Salary: Likely annual salary range of $147,292–$199,278, with actual compensation determined by experience, geographic location, and contractual considerations.
