- Partner Veterinary has a dedicated Learning and Development Department to help credentialed technicians achieve their goals. Led by two veterinary technician specialists, Heather Carter and Christine Weaver , our Learning and Development Department has an impressive track record of helping Technicians achieve advanced certifications (such as a VTS) if desired.
- To set you up for success from day 1, we gift you a wellness week of PTO after 90 days in your position. This time off is 30-40 hours of PTO dependent upon your schedule. Partner Veterinary recognizes the unique challenges and rewards of your role as an LVT, and this wellness week allows you to rest and relax with a week off after your initial 90 days.
What does your day look like with Partner Neurology?
The Neurology Veterinary Technician’s emphasis is on providing optimal patient care. You will practice routine and advanced technical skills with daily support from other technicians, specialty DVMs, and a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Neurology.
The LVTs in the neurology department are integral to assisting with procedures including advanced imaging (MRI & CT), spinal taps, neurosurgery, and inpatient care. This frequently involves general anesthesia for stable and unstable neurologic patients. Anesthesia experience is highly preferred. You will also have the opportunity to learn and master advanced skills such as epidural injections, urinary and arterial catheter placement, and assisting with surgery. Additionally, LVTs are integral to client education and may see patients directly for technician appointments when appropriate.

Our 20,000 square foot reimagined building and team design includes:
- Conscious and deliberate building design layout that encourages interdepartmental communication and collaboration
- Unique support roles that enable our team to practice at your highest level
- Scribes document exams and facilitate discharging appointments
- Care Advocates perform client communications, review estimates, and grief discussions to promote continuity of care
- Onsite advanced diagnostics, such as MRI, CT, Fluoroscopy and more
- Minimum 1-year veterinary technician experience
- Veterinary specialty experience is preferred, but not required
- Experience with general anesthesia and medical math is highly preferred, or a strong commitment to learning anesthesia
- Graduate of accredited veterinary technology program; veterinary technician “in good standing” so applicant is or eligible to transfer registration to Virginia
- Strong communication skills with clients and teammates; ability to collaborate with the teams across the Partner network

Physical Requirements (ability to)
- Quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
- Stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
- Lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
