About the Role:
The Childcare Assistant Director plays a crucial role in supporting the overall management and operation of the childcare facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This position involves collaborating with the Director to implement educational programs that meet the developmental needs of children while adhering to state regulations and standards. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for supervising staff, providing training and support, and fostering a positive team culture. Additionally, this role includes engaging with parents and the community to promote the center's mission and values. Ultimately, the Assistant Director contributes to the growth and development of children, staff, and the overall success of the childcare program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in a childcare setting, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of state licensing regulations and best practices in early childhood education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director in the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and quality standards.
- Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities that promote children's learning and development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, addressing their concerns and providing updates on their child's progress.
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and maintaining records to ensure smooth operation of the center.
