About the Role:
The Daycare Lead Teacher plays a pivotal role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. This position is responsible for designing and implementing age-appropriate curricula that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The Lead Teacher will guide and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality care and instruction. They will also maintain strong communication with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child's progress and address any concerns. Ultimately, the role aims to create a positive and engaging learning atmosphere that supports each child's growth and well-being.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare or early education setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate teaching methods.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to pass background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience leading a classroom or serving as a lead teacher in a daycare or preschool environment.
- Familiarity with state-specific early childhood education standards and licensing regulations.
- Additional certifications such as CDA (Child Development Associate) credential.
- Strong skills in conflict resolution and behavior management techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans that align with developmental milestones and educational standards.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to maintain a cohesive and effective teaching team.
- Observe and assess children's progress, documenting developmental achievements and areas needing support.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that meets all health and safety regulations.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's development, behavior, and daily activities.
- Collaborate with daycare administration to plan special events, activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements and organizational policies.
