MAT/CONSULT COORDINATOR POSITION SUMMARY

The MAT/OUD Coordinator will oversee and manage OUD transfers, discharges, and reentry efforts. The Consult Coordinator helps facilitate medical consultations and appointments for patients who require specialized care beyond the facility's capabilities. They coordinate with outside healthcare providers, schedule appointments, arrange transportation, and ensure that necessary medical records are prepared. Overall, the role of a Consult Coordinator in a correctional facility involves a combination of clinical care, coordination, and administrative tasks to provide essential healthcare services to inmates while adhering to the unique challenges of a correctional environment.

MAT/CONSULT COORDINATOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• The MAT/Consult Coordinator maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for patients receiving specialized care. This involves documenting medical histories, test results, treatment plans, and communication with external healthcare providers.
• The MAT/Consult Coordinator maintains detailed records to ensure continuity of care and compliance with medical protocols.
• The MAT/Consult Coordinator collaborates with other members of the medical team, including registered nurses, physicians, and mental health professionals, to provide comprehensive healthcare services to inmates.
• Alongside clinical duties, The MAT/Consult Coordinator may have administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and coordinating with external healthcare providers.
• The MAT/Consult Coordinator acts as a liaison between the correctional facility's medical team and external healthcare providers. They communicate medical needs, coordinate information exchange, and ensure seamless collaboration for patients' medical care.
• Accurate documentation of all medical interactions, assessments, treatments, and interventions is essential.

MAT/CONSULT COORDINATOR MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Licensure as a LPN in the state of employment.
• Possesses an active CPR certification.
• Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.
• Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role.
• At least two years of experience in a drug or alcohol treatment program.
• Knowledge of opioid addiction treatment medication including methadone, buprenorphine, Vivitrol, and other opiate treatment medications.
