Rater at Florida League of Cities Inc – Orlando, Florida

The Rater is responsible for rating coverage for insurance trust fund members and maintaining files throughout each fund year.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Provide customer service to the membership and other departments.
• Rate, input and provide quotes for new business, renewals, and coverage options for various product lines.
• Input, rate, print out (worksheets and schedules), review renewals and proof-type endorsements for the various product lines.
• Print and email certificates of insurance.
• Compile information and reports as requested or scheduled.
• Process and scan endorsement requests.
• Review and input audits for Workers’ Compensation and Liability.
• Assist the UW with the Installment and Audit billings.
• Issue new business.
• Rate and provide Asset Survey estimates.
• Input and scan auto, property, general liability and workers compensation change forms, and review and input audits for Workers’ Compensation and Liability.
• Duties may include filling in as back up for running the checks, processing W9’s, special projects.
• Assist in Training and perform other duties as required.
• All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of general office procedures and equipment.
• Knowledge of insurance coverages and operations, and familiarity with procedures, claims and statutes.
• Skill in typing at least 35 CWPM.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various personalities both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, managers, employees and vendors.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

High school graduate with aptitude toward analytical skills, a background in insurance operations and some familiarity with procedures, claims, and statutes. Minimum three years experience in related field is required. Rating or Underwriting experience strongly preferred.
