This chair is a demonstrative leader with the talent to build and maintain internal and external relationships, drive customer satisfaction through measures, process improvements, and promote a team environment of engagement and ownership.
Reporting directly to the VP of Customer Logistics and working in tandem with the Warehouse Operations Leadership, the Logistics Sr. Manager oversees the transportation operations - supporting major projects within the US, Canada and internationally.

- Strategic Planning and Budgeting: Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies, including cost-optimization plans, to achieve company objectives and manage budgets effectively.
- Transportation Management: Select carriers, negotiate contracts, optimize shipping routes, and monitor transportation performance to ensure timely deliveries. To include day-to-day front-line management up to and including data entry, scheduling, document processing, and driver communications.
- Customer Service: Manage internal and external customer relationships, address logistics-related issues, and ensure customer satisfaction with delivery timelines and accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the logistics team, including supervisors, transportation coordinators, and cross-functional contacts to achieve operational excellence.
- Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) like OTIF, costs per unit, mode, utilization, (price/performance/mix), claims, accessorials, etc. to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including safety standards, customs, laws, and transportation regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline logistics processes through automation, technology adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts with suppliers, including carriers, brokers, and alternate providers, to secure optimal pricing and service levels.
- Risk Management: Identify potential logistics disruptions and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on operations.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Desired Education and Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of logistics experience in a fast-paced environment
- Seasoned experience with management of logistics providers
- Proven proficiency with freight management systems
- Ability to lead node optimization with demonstrated examples
- Direct management experience with multiple top-tier transportation and management systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead large freight budgeting and expense management with demonstrated examples
- Proved in-depth knowledge of border crossing and international movement
