A Day in the Life as a Parts & Warranty Strategist

As a Parts & Warranty Strategist, you'll be responsible for service parts inventory strategy, sourcing, fulfillment performance, and warranty administration for Continental's commercial and industrial equipment across North America. This role ensures accurate parts data, optimized inventory levels, strong supplier partnerships, and efficient warranty processing while improving the overall ease of parts sourcing for distributors and customers. Responsibilities include:

Own the service parts and warranty programs, including inventory strategy, lifecycle management, stocking methodologies, and service-level performanceExercise independent judgement for over sourcing strategy, supplier selection, alternates, pricing structures, and inventory investment within approved financial parametersDirect OEM and aftermarket supplier strategy, including performance management, pricing and warranty recovery negotiations, and risk mitigationEstablish, interpret, and enforce parts and warranty policies, approve exceptions, and ensure compliance with company and manufacturer standardsAnalyze parts demand, warranty trends, cost drivers, and service metrics to identify risks, improvement opportunities, and corrective actionsDevelop and present executive-level reporting and recommendations regarding parts availability, warranty exposure, margins, and service performanceDrive cross-functional resolution of systemic parts and warranty issues and implement sustainable process improvementsServe as escalation authority for complex or high-impact parts and warranty matters involving distributors, OEMs, and internal stakeholdersAdvance system, e-commerce, and self-service improvements to reduce transactional support volume

What You Need

    Associate's degree in procurement, supply chain, technical support, engineering technology, or related area of study; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience2+ years of experience managing service or component parts within a manufacturing, industrial equipment, or technical service environment, including sourcing, supplier coordination, and inventory supportDemonstrated experience identifying mechanical equipment components and analyzing operational data (e.g., demand, inventory, warranty trends) to support sound business decisionsWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsAbility to interpret exploded parts diagrams, technical drawings, and product documentationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound independent judgmentExcellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and customer service skillsDetail oriented with strong time management, accuracy, and organizational skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues at all levelsAbility to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environmentProficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
