Job Description
Role: The Director of Mortgage Operations at Blaze will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the mortgage operations process, from loan processing to closing, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of mortgage operations professionals, develop, and implement strategies to optimize processes, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional service to our members. This role requires strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of mortgage operations, and a commitment to excellence.
Job Type: Full-time, on-site at our Larpenteur Corporate Office
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and empower a team of mortgage operations specialists to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Review and streamline mortgage operations processes, workflows, and procedures to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance the member experience.
- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the mortgage operations process.
- Review HMDA reporting for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards on mortgage operations performance, productivity, and key metrics.
- Analyze data trends and insights to identify opportunities for process improvement, resource optimization, and strategic decision-making.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management, providing insights into operational performance and areas for enhancement.

- Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses
- Minimum high School degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 6-7 years similar or related financial experience; leadership experience a plus.
- Encompass experience a plus.
Demonstrated Knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills including Microsoft products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to lead credit union department processes; exert regional influence or corporate knowledge sharing.
- Knowledge of Encompass a plus.
- Calculate simple arithmetic and finance related mathematics (e.g., interest, time value of money, compounding), accounting FNMA, FHLMC, HMDA and FICS guidelines Regulation BCFP, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA and all other pertinent regulations.
Communication Skills
Ability to proactively respond to members/employees to problem solve based on guidelines; written communications are based on templates but can be modified.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal employees and members on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs.

We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations.
The salary range for this position is: $105,709.90-$127,000/annually. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
