About the Role:

The HR Intern will play a vital role in supporting the human resources department within a manufacturing environment, gaining hands-on experience in various HR functions. This position is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to recruitment, employee relations, training coordination, and HR administration. The intern will assist in maintaining employee records, supporting onboarding processes, and contributing to the development of HR policies and programs. By collaborating with HR professionals and other departments, the intern will help ensure smooth HR operations that align with organizational goals. Ultimately, this role aims to develop foundational HR skills and knowledge that prepare the intern for a future career in human resources.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or work experience in a human resources or administrative role.
  • Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS) or applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Knowledge of labor laws and manufacturing industry standards.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interview schedules.
  • Support onboarding activities including preparing new hire documentation and facilitating orientation sessions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR information systems to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Help organize employee training sessions and track participation and feedback.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and assist in resolving basic employee inquiries.
  • Support the HR team with administrative tasks such as preparing reports, filing documents, and managing correspondence.
  • Participate in special HR projects aimed at improving workplace culture and operational efficiency.

Skills:

The HR Intern will utilize strong organizational and communication skills daily to coordinate recruitment efforts and support employee onboarding. Proficiency in Microsoft Office enables efficient preparation of reports, documentation, and presentations. Analytical skills are applied when maintaining accurate employee records and assisting with data entry in HR systems. Interpersonal skills are essential for engaging with employees and supporting HR initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture. Additionally, the ability to learn quickly and adapt to various HR functions will be critical for contributing effectively to the team and managing multiple tasks in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
