Business Development Associate - Innovative Products

Summary:
The Business Development Associate will support the Product Managers and Category Director for our Innovative Products distribution business and assist in managing inventory and supply chain, as well as working with our Sales Department and key suppliers
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Identify, review, source, and set up new suppliers of product while managing existing inventory. Provide additional support backing up the Purchasing Department.
- Manage availability and lead times with vendors and solve problems that arise
- Issue purchase orders with approved suppliers for your category
- Communicate with QA/Regulatory to ensure incoming products meet all specifications
- Quarantine/reject a product for quality/other concerns, and work with QA/QC team to rectify
- Set up direct shipment orders from domestic suppliers to customers – project manage the logistics, receive product into the system, and bill customers
- Build long-term relationships with suppliers - lead and manage weekly or biweekly calls with suppliers for order updates and ensure orders are shipping on time and in full
- Manage inventory or relevant items based on sales projections, including contracts, on file POs, sales history, and forecast on product sales
- Coordinate requirements for Prinova sourced raw materials with the innovative products team and regulatory
- Utilize the Prinova China Team and PM's when networking and sourcing new products
- Place orders, release orders, and ensure we are updating the sales staff and customer service team with any changes to the customer request date
- Address vendor issues
- Address credit issues with customers and credit line management for key accounts
- Monitor potential loss due to obsolete or expired inventory
- Manage location/freight decisions
- Negotiate return good issues with vendors
- PO processing: entry, submission, tracking, invoice approval, etc.
- Sales Order approvals and dashboard management
- Manage quality/regulatory requests and other customer inquiries
- Management of KPI metrics
- Assist with the Annual Budget process
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:
- 1-3 years of sourcing experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment, preferably in the international food, flavor, and fragrance ingredients industry.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution can be substituted for industry experience in certain situations.

- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Salesforce.com
- Familiarity or general aptitude for ERP systems is preferred
