About This Position
Assist the classroom teacher in maintaining appropriate classroom activities/environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. Perform the duties required to address the educational and behavioral needs of students participating in the special education program, implement individualized interventions as part of a student’s behavior plan, engage students in reviewing material previously introduced by classroom teacher under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher, assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure a safe and orderly classroom, and ensure students are on task, provides support and individualized instruction at the student's developmental level for functional skills, utilizes direct teaching techniques as outlined within the student’s IEP and/or Behavior Plan and management of behavioral challenges exhibited by students in the special education setting.
