About This Position

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides directs supervision and support for youth ages 12 to 21 within a co-ed, LGBTQ+ group home, congregate care setting. Participates in trauma-informed interactions, guidance, intervention, and role modeling while monitoring youth behavior according to program guidelines. Creates and maintain a trauma-informed living environment through interactions, structure, and routine. Responsible for oversight of self-administration of medication, documentation of daily progress toward goals, transportation, and daily living skills of youth. Assists in the facilitation of individual and group sessions to support independent living skills, social emotional education, leaderships development, vocational skills, and self-advocacy. Fosters and creates positive nurturing relationships and communications with youth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education

High School Diploma or GED and relevant working experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required:

  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
  • Obtain and maintain Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Able to obtain CPR (adult and infant), CPI and First Aid certification within 30 days in position
  • Food Handlers Card

Other

Ability to work a flexible schedule required to fulfill duties of position; this may include days, nights, evenings, and/or weekends; including assisting with coverage at other campuses within the agency. At times, individuals must work in a fast-paced environment to handle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands and seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.

Skills and Abilities

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Displays temperament, patience, and skill to interact and support youth in care with a trauma-informed approach, and be inclusive to diverse populations
  3. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in accordance with program requirements.
  4. Ability to compile, organize, and review information and use established guidelines or procedures to determine the appropriate course of action in daily work situations.
  5. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  6. Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  7. Works effectively and relates well with others, including management, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the agency. Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and maintains constructive working relationships.
  8. Ability to represent the agency effectively in various settings and within diverse communities.
  9. Demonstrated respect and understanding of the importance to create and contribute to an inclusive working environment and program.
  10. Individual may be required to assist with ratio coverage at other campuses within the agency.
  11. Strong attention to detail and well-organized.
  12. Must be team-oriented
  13. Must be calm, non-defensive, and supportive during a crisis or potential crisis.

Computer Skills Required:

  • Microsoft Programs
  • EMR system (Preferred)
