Groundskeeper at The Elms Hotel & Spa – Excelsior Springs, Missouri

The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of outdoor areas and landscaped grounds. This includes mowing, trimming, planting, watering, and maintaining lawns, trees, flower beds, and walkways to ensure a clean and attractive environment for guests, staff, and visitors.

• Maintain lawns, gardens, walkways, and other landscaped areas through mowing, weeding, pruning, fertilizing, and mulching.

• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation systems.

• Perform seasonal grounds care tasks such as leaf removal, snow and ice removal, and seasonal plantings.

• Inspect and maintain outdoor furniture, lighting, fountains, and fixtures.

• Monitor grounds for trash, debris, and hazards; perform regular clean-up and report maintenance issues.

• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides in accordance with safety guidelines and local regulations.

• Assist with minor repairs to fences, signage, and exterior fixtures as needed.

• Support special event setup or outdoor functions by preparing and maintaining grounds.

• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or horticulture preferred.

• Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.

• Knowledge of plant care, pest control, and irrigation systems is a plus.

• Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on the site.
