Job Objective/ Summary
The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible to direct and administer the housekeeping and laundry programs, including staff supervision, maintaining sanitation and occupational health, assisting departments with cleanup, sanitation, pest control, housekeeping, and laundry while complying with safety policies and regulations.
Essential Functions
- Takes on various roles to effectively manage the entire housekeeping department. Assign staff to ensure that the team efficiently completes any delegated duties.
- Create daily schedules for the staff and assign tasks in advance and responsible for recording and tracking work assignments.
- Provide orientation and training to introduce employees to the organization’s policies, standard regulations, and specific procedures. This may include cleaning methods, organizational layout, and guidelines for using supplies and equipment.
- Guarantees a high standard of customer service to maintain credibility by providing a consistent and satisfactory experience. Responsible for communicating feedback to staff members and suggesting improvements.
- Responsible for checking supply inventory and reporting to Facilities Director to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Provide team members with the supplies and equipment they require.
- Work alongside staff members of the housekeeping and laundry departments. If the departments do not have enough available team members or there is an urgent matter needing attention, it is your responsibility to help the team complete the tasks.
- Know the specific protocols, standards, and procedures for the community.
- Represents their department in organizational meetings. Responsible for arranging and attending staff meetings to explain and discuss the company's updated policies.
- Responsible for examining the premises, equipment, and supplies. If there are any necessary repairs to the furniture or fittings, report them to management.
- Responsible for ensuring every team member is aware of and complies with safety and sanitation policies.
- Collect customer feedback to report any findings to the management team.
- Effective communication with residents, employees, and management.
- Adhere to The Estates at Carpenters’ policies and procedures, including those covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations, and codes of conduct. Always maintain confidentiality and respect resident’s privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

- Attends and participates in orientation, training and educational activities as required.
- Dresses appropriately, following appropriate dress and uniform policies and guidelines.
- Must be able to maintain consistent attendance as per job requirements and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- One to two years of experience performing environmental work duties and a strong understanding of hazardous materials management.
- One to two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Familiarity with laws and regulations related to waste and environmental concerns.
- Keen observational skills.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Troubleshooting to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
- Critical thinking skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment reference checks.
- Must be able to provide official grade transcripts of the education level provided on the employment application.
- Must be able to provide a copy of his/her own social security card for W-4 documentation.
- Must be able to provide applicable documentation(s) for I-9 to establish identity and authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, personal automobile liability insurance, and acceptable driving record (if required to drive).
Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category I
Your tasks routinely involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other contaminated materials. In compliance with OSHA standards on blood borne pathogens, The Estates at Carpenters will offer Hepatitis B vaccine to all employees who are determined to be at risk of exposure to blood or other body fluids and follow up to all employees who have had an exposure incident. This vaccine will be provided at no cost to the employee.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this position, an Environmental Services Supervisor is regularly required to stand, squat or sit in tight areas for long periods of time. Frequent walking, climbing ladders, working with chemicals and manipulation of equipment. Able to withstand extreme temperatures and function in adverse working conditions. Lifting required in excess of 25lbs.
