Job Description
The Duquesne Club is seeking an experienced fine dining professional who is passionate about distinguished service and exquisite cuisine, and who can help us create memorable experiences for our accomplished members, their families, and their guests.
The Duquesne Club is renowned as one of the premier city clubs in the world. What was once a fraternity of prominent industrialists has evolved into a social and business retreat for the region’s most interesting thinkers and innovative leaders in business, industry, finance, politics, education, philanthropy, law, medicine, and the arts. Since 1873 we have offered members and guests the pinnacle of refined dining and grand celebration in our exceptional à la carte and private dining rooms, bars, and wine cellar. If you find satisfaction in providing high-quality service that will keep our members coming back, then you may be the right person to help us carry these traditions forward. Servers would need to be flexible with scheduled shifts, based on business, Monday through Saturday, 4:30 pm - 10:00 pm.
Responsibilities & Expectations:
· Attention to Club service standards is essential
· Serve members and guests according to Club service standards
· Become knowledgeable about food, beverage and Club offerings
· Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
· Manage course timing and appropriate service techniques
· Complete training as assigned
· Prepare and maintain a clean and organized station
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with members
· Follow applicable laws regarding alcohol service
· Reply to scheduling requests promptly, and be dependable when scheduled
· Follow uniform, grooming and personal hygiene standards
· Be respectful of fellow staff in all departments
Addtional Information:
· The Duquesne Club is closed on Sundays and most major holidays
· Discounted employee meals
· Uniforms provided (Employee provides slacks and shoes)
· Optional, additional work in private dining rooms and banquet events
· Benefits available for employees who attain Full-Time status
· Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to support the business demands of the Club.
