Performs functions related to payroll to include payroll processing, updating and maintaining automated time-keeping systems, and government reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Processes weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for organization in an accurate and timely manner.
- Reviews timecards for completeness, accuracy, compliance with wage & hour laws, and appropriate approvals before entering time, either manually or via electronic import, into payroll system.
- Processes salary adjustments, special payments, employee deductions (i.e., insurance, 401k), garnishments, PTO, sick leave, etc. in an accurate and timely manner.
- Contacts appropriate departments/managers for information needed for corrections or missing times or other related payroll data.
- Completes payroll process for Supervisors review.
- Prepares required reporting for certified payrolls.
- Distributes paychecks, pay stubs, and other payroll related information.
- Updates and maintains payroll files and databases to reflect personnel payroll changes.
- Researches discrepancies of payroll information and/or documentation (e.g. contract information, W-4 forms, time sheets, leave time, unemployment eligibility, direct deposit requirements, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing.
- Maintains and updates electronic time-keeping system for new personnel and for personnel changes.
- Trains employees and managers in the use of electronic time-keeping system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervisory responsibilities are not anticipated.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years payroll processing experience preferred.Associates degree in a related field preferred but may be substituted with applicable accounting experience. Must have excellent attention to detail and basic knowledge of accounting and payroll processes, procedures, and best practices. Must have experience in accounting/payroll software (ADP WFN preferred).Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs including; Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

- Demonstrate a good attitude and work as a member of a team.Ability to self-motivate.Ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task.Work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with frequent interruptions.
