The Role

The Floral Design Manager is responsible for leading the floral vision, design development, and execution of floral programming across WSA NYC Campus. This role is accountable for overseeing floral execution for both event activations and recurring floral programs, ensuring brand consistency, quality, and a fresh, elevated aesthetic throughout the property.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate, highly creative, and hands-on design leader with a strong eye for color, balance, form, and brand expression. This individual should be comfortable guiding concept development, sourcing materials, managing installations, and collaborating cross-functionally with events, operations, and property teams to deliver thoughtful, polished floral environments and experiences.

Reporting to: Director of Design

Responsible for: Floral execution, weekly floral programs, event floral design, part-time floral associates, vendor relationships, and floral inventory and workspace organization

Compensation Range: $90,000 - $110,000

Requirements:

  • This is a hands-on leadership position where time is split between floral concepting, production oversight, weekly installations, team direction, and administrative coordination on-site at WSA NYC Campus.
  • Lead the floral concepting and execution for events, activations, special projects, and other design-forward experiences across WSA NYC Campus.
  • Oversee weekly floral installations throughout the property, ensuring consistency, freshness, and alignment with the overall visual direction of the brand.
  • Ensure floral design remains cohesive, elevated, and reflective of seasonal shifts, programming needs, and the broader creative vision of the property.
  • Manage sourcing, ordering, and budget tracking for all floral-related materials, supplies, vessels, and tools.
  • Coordinate closely with Events, Operations, and Property teams regarding event needs, timelines, installation schedules, and execution details.
  • Supervise and mentor part-time floral associates, providing day-to-day direction, feedback, and support across weekly maintenance and event production needs.
  • Oversee floral inventory, tools, supplies, and workspace organization to ensure efficiency, cleanliness, and readiness for both recurring and one-off projects.
  • Maintain strong relationships with flower markets, vendors, and suppliers to support quality, consistency, responsiveness, and value.
  • Ensure all florals are fresh, high-quality, and maintained properly throughout their display lifecycle.
  • Participate in creative ideation for immersive environments, editorial moments, branded content, or special installations as needed.
  • Develop and maintain clear floral calendars, production notes, ordering lists, and installation workflows that support timely and organized execution.
  • Partner cross-functionally to align floral programming with property moments, guest experience goals, event needs, and visual storytelling opportunities.
  • Help establish and refine standards for floral care, installation quality, maintenance expectations, and overall presentation throughout the property.
  • Monitor budgets, invoices, supply usage, and floral spend with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Support hands-on setup, breakdown, refreshes, and maintenance as needed to ensure a high standard of finish and continuity across all floral work.
  • Help uphold a creative, collaborative, and solutions-oriented working environment through professionalism, organization, and strong follow-through.

Position Qualifications include

  • 4–5 years of professional floral design experience preferred, ideally within events, hospitality, luxury, lifestyle, or design-forward environments.
  • Proven experience designing for both small-scale and large-format activations, installations, or recurring floral programs.
  • Strong understanding of floral mechanics, seasonality, sourcing, processing, care, and presentation standards.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong eye for color, proportion, balance, texture, and form.
  • Experience managing multiple creative projects at once while maintaining organization, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Comfort leading hands-on execution while also directing support staff and coordinating with cross-functional partners.
  • Experience with sourcing, ordering, inventory management, and budget tracking for floral-related materials and supplies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with creative, operational, and event-focused teams.
  • Self-starter mindset with excellent time management, organizational skills, and personal accountability.
  • Collaborative, kind, and communicative approach with a positive team presence and strong creative instincts.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and comfort working early mornings, evenings, weekends, or event-based schedules as needed.

Additional Skills

  • Creative concept development skills with the ability to translate brand direction into polished floral experiences and environments.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage calendars, installations, maintenance needs, and event timelines simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with vendors, internal teams, and leadership regarding floral plans, costs, logistics, and execution details.
  • Confidence in making real-time creative and operational decisions with professionalism and sound judgment in fast-moving environments.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, reliability, and calm problem-solving when working against deadlines or adjusting to event and property needs.
  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and passion for design, hospitality, and guest experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with colleagues, support staff, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • This is an on-site role and is not a remote work position.
