| Physical Requirements | Sitting at computer workstation for extended periods including data entry; repetitive motions, and standing or walking with objects up to 10 lbs. |
| Shift | Primarily Monday-Friday 5:00AM – 1:00PM or 6:00AM – 2:00PM based on operational needs, includes some weekends and holiday rotations. |
| Job Summary | The Patient Access Representative is responsible for patient registration; resolution of patient complaints; collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source information; correction of registration errors; collection of patient-responsibility payments at time of service (copays, co-insurance, self-pay estimates) as well as maintaining compliance with HIPPA and all UKHC policies regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. This position will also participate in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality. |

| Preferred Education/Experience | 4 years of healthcare customer service experience preferred and previous experience working with patient registration is highly preferred. |
