Job Summary
Providence Christian Preparatory School is seeking a highly qualified, Christ-centered Math Teacher to provide engaging and rigorous instruction for middle and high school students in mathematics.

The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning. The Math Teacher will challenge students to develop confidence in their mathematical abilities while integrating biblical principles and a Christian worldview into instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Mathematics Instruction:
Teach middle and high school mathematics courses including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Consumer Mathematics, Financial Literacy, and other courses as assigned.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Florida Standards and school curriculum requirements.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Foster critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills through mathematical inquiry and real-world applications.
Incorporate technology, manipulatives, and interactive learning tools to enhance instruction.

Student Achievement and Assessment:
Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, assignments, grades, and academic progress.
Analyze student performance data to identify strengths, learning gaps, and intervention needs.
Prepare students for state assessments and college and career readiness expectations.
Provide academic support and tutoring opportunities when appropriate.

Christian Leadership:
Integrate biblical principles and Christian values into classroom instruction and student interactions.
Encourage students to develop perseverance, integrity, responsibility, and a growth mindset.
Participate in chapel services, prayer opportunities, and faith-based school activities.
Serve as a positive Christian role model for students and families.

Classroom Management and Student Development:
Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
Implement effective classroom management practices that support student success.
Promote student accountability, responsibility, and academic independence.
Support students' social, emotional, and character development.

Parent and Community Engagement:
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and family engagement activities.
Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support school-wide initiatives and student success.

Professional Responsibilities:
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school improvement activities.
Collaborate with fellow teachers to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Principal or School Administrator.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Secondary Education, or a related field.
Strong content knowledge in middle and high school mathematics.
Effective classroom management and instructional skills.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with educational technology and student information systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
Florida Teaching Certificate or Statement of Eligibility in Mathematics (Grades 6–12).
Previous experience teaching middle or high school mathematics.
Experience in a Christian or private school environment.
Ability to teach multiple mathematics courses including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.

Essential Requirements:
o Level II background screening clearance
o Ability to speak for long periods of time
o Possess a strong passion for working with children.
o Must be reliable and able to maintain acceptable attendance.
o Must be coachable and willing to grow professionally
o Must be an active team player.
o Creative problem-solving skills.

Applicants must have the ability to participate in tasks that require moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).

Hours of work may vary. Typical schedules are set between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
