Position Summary:- High Precision CNC Mill programming within a collaborative work environment including Operations, QC, Engineering and Quoting process
- Daily shop floor presence to execute verification of new and existing CNC programs
- High degree of process improvement mentality to decrease cycle times while maintaining high quality standards
- Detailed oriented with the ability to provide high level of detail for repeatable machine set-up and operator information
Key Responsibilities:
- Offline CNC programming for 3-5 axis mills. 2D and 3D surface milling is required
- Support shop floor setups and knowledge transfer
- Create documentation for the shop floor including tooling lists and setup sheets
- Document standard machining and CNC setup practices
- Design work-holding fixtures
- Translate CAD files
- Monitor and inspect parts throughout process.
- Maintain clean and safe working environment.
- Observe MCT quality and safety procedures.
- May provide training to other team members.
- Communicates and collaborates with team members in the sharing of information and solving technical issues
- High School Diploma or General Education (GED) required.
- Demonstrated ability to program using CAD/CAM Mastercam software.
- The ability to read blueprints and execute shop math.
- Complete work in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to work weekends and overtime as required.
- Proficient understanding of G-code
- Proficient understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and high attention to detail
- Flexible, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
- Self-motivated and able to take responsibility
- Must read and write English
Preferred Requirements:
- Associate degree in a relevant field and/or other technical certification or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years minimum experience in 3-5 axis CNC mill programming
- Ability to edit and create CAM Post Processors
Physical Requirements:
- Requires individuals to balance, bending at waist, and climbing stairs/ladders throughout the day. Work requires the use of hands in carrying
out duties. May require the use of knees. Must be able to lift or carry up to 60 lbs. This is a repetitive motion job requiring reaching above the shoulder.
Must be able to see fine detail.
Work Environment:
- The work environment uses heat, oils to skin, and fumes, odors, dust, chemicals, and
other atmospheric conditions that can affect the respiratory system. Must be
comfortable moving around moving machinery and not afraid of heights. May work
in extreme heat and noise conditions.
