Job Description
Lyngblomsten is looking to fill a brand new role, The Gathering Program Facilitator. This position is responsible for facilitating The Gathering, a dementia group respite program. The facilitator will create a supportive and engaging environment for individuals living with dementia, providing meaningful activities while providing 4 hours of respite for their family caregiver. This part-time position (21 hours per week) is scheduled across three weekdays.
The posted pay range of this hourly position is $20 to $26. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, Music Therapy, Gerontology, Nursing, or related field preferred.
- Experience leading activities for individuals living with dementia (5+ years preferred).
- Experience supervising volunteers (3+ years preferred).
- Passion for working with people living with dementia and commitment to person-centered, strengths-based care.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable leading groups and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving and assessment skills (physical, mental, and social).
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Reliable transportation; ability to work at both Como and Lino Lakes campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate The Gathering group respite program by leading engaging activities such as arts/crafts, active games, music, brain games, exercise, and table games, using planned curriculum developed by program coordinator.
- Create a warm, inclusive environment and support new participants as they transition into the program.
- Supervise and support program volunteers.
- Actively participate as a team member and contribute to the growth of The Gathering and Lyngblomsten Community Services.
