Sr. Engineer Network

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Engineer Network based in India.

This role sits at the heart of global network operations, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of large-scale enterprise infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining critical network services that support business continuity across multiple regions and time zones. The position combines hands-on technical troubleshooting with operational excellence, covering firewalls, SD-WAN, VPNs, and wireless networks. You will play a key role in managing incidents, implementing upgrades, and driving automation to improve reliability and efficiency. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will engage with cross-functional teams, vendors, and support functions to resolve complex infrastructure challenges. This is a high-impact role where your expertise directly strengthens network resilience and end-user connectivity across the organization.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise network infrastructure, while supporting operational excellence and service stability across global environments.

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for network and infrastructure incidents across enterprise environments
  • Execute non-project operational tasks including upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and inventory management
  • Manage and maintain firewall systems, including Palo Alto environments, firewall rules, NAT/PAT, and security policies
  • Support and optimize SD-WAN, VPN, wireless LAN, and Zero Trust connectivity solutions
  • Ensure adherence to ITIL-based change, incident, and release management processes
  • Own deployment activities including route-to-live execution, rollback planning, and service improvements
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers for issue escalation and resolution
  • Mentor junior engineers and share best practices across L1/L2 support teams
  • Participate in rotational on-call support to ensure 24/7 network availability
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on networking expertise combined with operational experience in enterprise-scale environments and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • 6+ years of experience in network engineering or network operations roles
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and wireless technologies
  • 3+ years of experience with VPN solutions such as Cisco AnyConnect and Zero Trust Network Access
  • 3+ years of experience managing wireless LAN environments (Cisco Meraki, Aruba preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience working with SD-WAN technologies (Viptela, Meraki preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with firewall platforms, especially Palo Alto Networks
  • Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution skills in complex network environments
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and ITSM tools for service management
  • Ability to work across distributed teams and manage vendor relationships effectively
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify technical issues for diverse audiences
  • UNIX/Linux knowledge is an added advantage
  • Self-driven mindset with ability to work independently in fast-paced operational settings
