Job Description
Job Summary:
The LPN performs under the direct supervision of the physician in charge and is delegated an assignment by him/her to achieve quality patient care. The LPN shall assist the physician in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct patient care as evidenced, but not limited to, patient care documentation, direct observation, and patient evaluations. The LPN is responsible and accountable to the assigned physician or nurse practitioner.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development
- Possesses the ability to read data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described by the physician in charge.
- Demonstrates the ability to assist with a variety of procedures, exams and/or operations of diagnostic equipment.
- Demonstrates the appropriate aseptic technique for preparation, procedures, and medications administered.
- Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e., We CARE, safety, compliance standards and all others
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized LPN program.
Work Experience:
Physician office or clinic nursing experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE-Must be licensed/certified in one of the following:
- Licensed LPN able to practice within the State of MS
Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below
- Basic Life Support
Within 30 Days of Employment
