Job Description

Job Title: Facilities Technician
Location: US Beverage Packers West LLC
Reports To: Engineering & Technical Support Manager
Department: 250- Facilities
FLSA Status: Hourly

Job Summary

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall condition, functionality, and operational readiness of the facility, including production areas, warehouse spaces, offices, and exterior grounds. This role performs a wide range of maintenance, repair, installation, and facility support tasks to ensure the plant remains safe efficient, and fully operational.

The Facilities Technician plays a key role in supporting ongoing facility improvements, equipment installations, and site upkeep, including structural work, racking systems, and grounds maintenance. This position requires strong mechanical ability, a high level of physical capability, and the flexibility to support daily operations and expansion projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Core Competencies & Responsibilities

1. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, GMP standards, and facility procedures.
  • Perform all maintenance, installation, and repair work in compliance with OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas to prevent injuries and product contamination.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or facility-related risks.
  • 2. Quality & Standards

  • Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and structural integrity in accordance with GMP and company standards.
  • Identify and address facility conditions that may impact safety, product quality, or operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all work performed meets company standards and supports audit readiness.
  • Support sanitation and facility preparation for internal and external inspections.
  • 3. Productivity & Operational Excellence

  • Perform facility maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across production, warehouse, and office areas.
  • Assemble, install, modify, and relocate racking systems and storage structures.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks and respond to work orders in a timely manner.
  • Assist with installation and decommissioning of equipment, fixtures, and facility systems.
  • Support construction, expansion, and facility improvement projects.
  • Assist with exterior upkeep, including landscaping and general property maintenance.
  • Operate company carts and transport tools, materials, and equipment throughout the facility.
  • 4. Communication & Teamwork

    • Communicate facility issues, repair needs, and project updates to leadership.
    • Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Sanitation, and Maintenance teams to support operations.
    • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed.
    • Maintain a professional, accountable, and team-oriented work approach.

    5. Technical / Job-Specific Skills

    • Ability to perform maintenance and repair work across multiple trades, including mechanical, structural, and basic electrical and plumbing.
    • Experience assembling and installing racking systems and facility structures.
    • Ability to safely operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, powered industrial equipment, and operate at elevated heights.
    • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
    • Ability to complete work orders and maintain maintenance records accurately.
    • Support facility expansions, reconfigurations, and improvement projects.

    Qualifications

    • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
    • Experience: 2+ years of facility maintenance, construction, or general maintenance experience e preferred.
    • Certifications: Forklift certification preferred; scissor lift certification a plus.
    • Other Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding work, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Physical & Environmental Requirements

    • Standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. or more as required.
    • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.
    • Exposure to noise, machinery, construction environments, and maintenance-related hazards.
    • Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hair nets, and beard nets

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Pay Range: $21.00 – $28.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
