Role Purpose

The Superintendent is responsible for daily jobsite execution. This role manages production, quality, safety, customer satisfaction, daily documentation, map-of-completion updates, extra work communication, GC/customer daily communication, and job completion forms.

The Superintendent is CFR's daily field leader on the job—making sure the work is moving, the crew understands the plan, the site is safe, the work meets CFR standards, and leadership has accurate information about what is happening on the job.

The purpose of this role is to lead daily field execution in a way that strengthens customer trust, protects CFR's work quality, supports production, documents the job properly, and communicates issues early. CFR earns trust in the field through what happens every day on the jobsite. The Superintendent plays a major role in whether the customer, GC, PM, and field team experience CFR as organized, responsive, professional, and reliable.

Responsibilities
  • Jobsite Execution & Production Management: Leads the daily rhythm of the jobsite by directing crew assignments, tracking production progress, and making real-time adjustments to keep work on schedule.
  • Quality Control: Monitors workmanship throughout the day to ensure all installation meets CFR standards, correcting any issues before they advance.
  • Safety Awareness & Documentation: Maintains a safe jobsite through active leadership and completes all required safety documentation accurately each day.
  • Crew Leadership & Field Communication: Ensures every crew member understands the plan before work begins and maintains clear, professional communication with the Division Manager, PM, GC, and customer throughout the day.
  • Customer & GC Relationship Management: Engages with the GC and customer daily, addresses concerns proactively, and represents CFR with professionalism on every job.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Completes daily reports, updates maps of completion, and submits job completion forms accurately and on time, every day.
  • Extra Work Identification & Communication: Identifies out-of-scope work immediately, notifies the Division Manager and PM, and initiates the documentation needed to support a change order.
  • Issue Identification & Escalation: Surfaces production, quality, safety, or schedule concerns early and communicates them to the Division Manager and PM before they become larger problems.
Qualifications
  • Strong commercial flooring field experience with a solid understanding of jobsite sequencing, installation standards, and production expectations.
  • Ability to lead crews, communicate expectations clearly, and keep daily field work organized and moving.
  • Working knowledge of jobsite safety requirements and the ability to reinforce safe work practices daily.
  • Ability to identify quality issues early, communicate concerns professionally, and help drive timely corrections.
  • Strong communication skills with customers, general contractors, project managers, division leadership, and field team members.
  • Dependable documentation habits, including daily reports, map-of-completion updates, extra work communication, and job completion forms.
  • Ability to recognize jobsite issues early and escalate them to the Division Manager and Project Manager before they become larger problems.
  • Professional judgment, reliability, and accountability in representing CFR on active jobsites.
Success Definition

The Superintendent is successful when the jobsite is organized, crews understand the plan, work progresses, quality is protected, safety is reinforced, documentation is complete, maps are updated, extra work is communicated, and CFR earns trust through daily field execution.
