Hotel Banquet Server & Restaurant Server Opportunities
Location: Latham, NY 12110
Company: Holiday Inn Express and Suites- Latham
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Reports To: Food & Beverage Manager

SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences at various events, including weddings, corporate gatherings, and other special occasions. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for providing high-quality guest services while ensuring that all food and beverage offerings are presented beautifully and served efficiently.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Set up banquet function tables and break tables down, with required items according to property standards.
- Prepare, organize, and pre-sets all non-entree items to be used during the banquet including coffee, bread, butter, condiments, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of food items as needed, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
- Serve food and beverages to banquet and/or meeting break guests in a friendly and professional manner while ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Garnish and decorates dishes prior to serving.
- Observes guests to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
- Clear, resets tables, and properly stores banquet items at conclusion of each course/banquet.
- Supply and replenishes meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
- Provide assistance and direction to guests when necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Evening, weekend, and holidays hours may be required.
- Fast paced environment.
- Moderate to high noise level.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be over 18 Years of age
- Serve Safe Certified Preferred
- Commitment to excellent guest service.
- Position requires multi-tasking abilities.
- Bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices within the food industry.
- Experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is preferred.
- Excellent guest service skills with the ability to engage positively with patrons.
- Basic culinary skills for food preparation tasks are advantageous.
- Familiarity with coffee service and beverage presentation is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork mentality.
- Previous experience in banquet serving or related roles is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to handle, carry, or lift items up to 25 pounds.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
