The 2nd Shift PEM Machine Operator (Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM) plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining precision PEM (Precision Engineering Manufacturing) equipment to produce high-quality components.
This position ensures production targets are met efficiently while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. The operator monitors machine performance, makes adjustments as needed, and troubleshoots issues to minimize downtime.
Collaboration with team members and supervisors is essential to maintain smooth workflow and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role directly contributes to the company’s ability to deliver reliable, high-quality products on schedule.
Schedule2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating manufacturing machinery (PEM or similar preferred)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule reliably
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Certification or training in machine operation or manufacturing processes
- Experience with preventive maintenance and minor machine repairs
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and best practices
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Set up, operate, and monitor PEM machines during the 2nd shift
- Perform routine inspections and quality checks on parts
- Adjust machine settings and tooling to maintain quality and efficiency
- Troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues to reduce downtime
- Maintain accurate production records and report deviations to supervisors
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams on process improvements
The required skills enable the operator to effectively set up and operate PEM machines while ensuring production efficiency, quality, and safety compliance. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to interpret technical drawings are essential for making precise adjustments and resolving issues quickly.
Attention to detail supports accurate inspections and consistent product quality. Preferred skills such as preventive maintenance knowledge and computer literacy enhance the ability to support equipment reliability and maintain accurate production records. Strong communication and teamwork skills ensure effective collaboration with supervisors, maintenance, and engineering teams.
