Associate Fitness Center Director in Rockville, Maryland at FOCUS HR INC

Aerobodies is seeking an experienced Associate Fitness Center Director to assist with the daily operations of an employee fitness center supporting a federal government agency.

The ideal candidate will have fitness management experience, strong exercise assessment and instruction skills, and the ability to support a safe, professional, and engaging wellness environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with managing daily fitness center operations.
• Supervise fitness staff and coordinate employee schedules.
• Conduct fitness assessments and design personalized exercise programs.
• Provide fitness instruction and support wellness activities.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and the facility operates safely.
• Assist with member engagement, program development, and fitness center marketing.

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Fitness Management, Exercise Physiology, or another accredited fitness-related field.
• Current certification from ACSM, ACE, NSCA, NCCPT, or a qualifying equivalent certifying organization.
• Minimum of 6 months of management or supervisory experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience conducting fitness assessments, designing exercise programs, teaching exercise techniques, and supporting fitness facility operations.
• Knowledge of strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, and group exercise.
• Ability to coordinate staff schedules and maintain safe fitness equipment and facilities.

Work Schedule

Full-time position. Candidates must be available to work one of the following shifts:

• 5:45 AM – 2:15 PM
• 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM

Each shift includes a 30-minute lunch break.
