Quevera is seeking a Technical Writer II with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support a worldwide engineering, operations, and technology refresh contract delivering Enterprise IT (EIT) capabilities for an Intelligence Community (IC) customer in Laurel, Maryland. This role supports agency-wide operations by contributing to engineering, Tier 2/3 support, break/fix activities, technology refresh efforts, and the continued evolution of enterprise IT capabilities across a global environment.
As a Technical Writer II, you will serve as a key contributor to the development and management of technical documentation supporting complex hardware, software, and engineering initiatives. Working closely with engineers, developers, program stakeholders, and government customers, you will transform complex technical concepts and functional requirements into clear, accurate, and user-focused documentation. You will also provide leadership for technical writing efforts across the program, ensuring documentation is consistent, accurate, and aligned with project objectives while supporting mission-critical Enterprise IT operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create, edit, and maintain a wide variety of technical documentation, including user guides, reference materials, manuals, installation guides, configuration documentation, how-to guides, cheat sheets, and instructional content.
- Translate complex scientific and technical concepts into clear, concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to transform functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Support engineering teams by developing and maintaining documentation for hardware, software, system components, engineering artifacts, and technical deliverables.
- Prepare, review, revise, and maintain software engineering, systems engineering, system operations, testing, and end-user documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop developer-focused documentation while collaborating directly with software development and engineering teams.
- Utilize documentation tools to create standardized templates and generate documentation across multiple output formats.
- Serve as the primary liaison to the government for technical documentation activities, supporting contract coordination and task execution.
- Provide leadership and oversight for technical writing efforts across the program, serving as the process owner for technical documentation and ensuring consistency across documentation deliverables.
- Apply strong writing, editing, and grammar skills to deliver high-quality documentation while meeting project deadlines.
- Apply knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Intelligence Community Information Technology Enterprise (IC ITE), Risk Management Framework (RMF), and program terminology throughout documentation efforts.
- Contribute to documentation initiatives involving multiple stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement across program documentation processes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) additional years of Technical Writer experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a technical writing or lead technical writing role.
- Demonstrated ability to distill complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
- Excellent writing, editing, and grammar skills with the ability to work independently and deliver accurate documentation under tight deadlines.
- Proven experience designing and developing developer-oriented documentation while collaborating directly with software development teams.
- Experience using documentation tools to develop templates and produce documentation in multiple output formats.
- Thorough understanding of software development concepts, the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and related program terminology.
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting Enterprise IT (EIT) environments within the Intelligence Community.
- Familiarity with Intelligence Community Information Technology Enterprise (IC ITE) concepts and terminology.
- Experience documenting hardware, software, engineering, and operational processes within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting engineering, technology refresh, or infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Experience coordinating documentation efforts across cross-functional technical teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience serving as a documentation lead or process owner within complex technical programs.
