As a Chief Engineer for our organization, you will be responsible for:- Providing technical consultation advice to the project regarding design issues, development and test approaches
- Providing expertise in mechanical design, especially for MGSE
- Ability to create drawings (using CREO)
- Generate images and models to support various studies and reviews
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree experience in an engineering field with 20+ years of related experience
- Must be able to pass a Government background investigation
- Strong experience designing, developing, and delivering mechanical hardware, assemblies, and mechanical systems
- Strong experience using CREO
- Experience with Windchill
- Extensive experience with model conversion into various CAD formats.
- Firm grasp and understanding of ANSI drafting and tolerance standards
- Experience at authoring and maintaining project documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to interface with engineers, analysts, designers, manufacturing specialists, machine shop, flight techs, and project staff
Desired Experience:
- Knowledge of materials, treatments, and coatings related to space-flight design and operation of mechanisms
- Knowledge of General Environmental Verification Specification (GEVS) and NASA 5017
- Practical knowledge of Standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with NASA mission life cycle and review cycle (design reviews, requirements reviews, integration reviews, trade studies, etc.)
