At Park Landscape Group, we exist to enhance life outdoors and build long-term, rewarding careers for our team. Operating as Western Canada's premier commercial landscape partner, we deliver landscape construction, grounds maintenance, and snow management across Alberta.

We don't leave your career to chance. When you join Park, you join an earnest, hard-working team backed by modern equipment, clear safety standards, and real opportunities to advance.

The Role: Winter Services Skid Steer Operator

We provide the tools, technology, and support; you bring the skill and dedication. In this role, you will play a key part in operating a skid steer to efficiently clear snow and ice from commercial, industrial, and residential properties during the winter season.

Your Daily Impact:

  • Operate Specialized Snow Equipment: Operate skid steers equipped with snow blades, pushers, buckets, or sweepers efficiently to remove snow and ice from commercial, industrial, and residential properties.

  • Site Clearing & Precision Relocation: Safely and efficiently clear parking lots, roadways, drive lanes, and access points according to site maps and commercial quality standards while performing precision snow stacking and piling to maximize available parking space.

  • Asset Care & Inspections: Conduct routine daily pre- and post-trip inspections, perform basic maintenance (fluid checks, greasing, cleaning, minor troubleshooting), and ensure machines and attachments are properly secured and in working order.

  • Safety, Compliance & Risk Management: Identify on-site hazards (curbs, light standards, pavement, parked vehicles) to prevent property damage, adhere strictly to Safe Work Practices (SWP) and Safe Job Procedures (SJP), and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without exception.

  • Mobile Tech & Site Logging: Utilize mobile applications (e.g., Aspire, Asset Tiger, SiteDocs) for accurate daily timekeeping, site arrival/completion verification, maintenance logging, and safety reporting.

  • Teamwork & Operations: Maintain clear communication and strong teamwork with field supervisors and peers, and readily assist alongside sidewalk crews when required.

Essentials for Success (Qualifications & Skills)

To thrive in this role, you will need a solid technical foundation and a strong work ethic:

  • Knowledge: 2+ years operating skid steers in commercial snow removal, SWP/SJP safety principles, equipment maintenance, and hazard awareness.

  • Skills: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract, proficiency operating skid steer attachments (pushers, blades, buckets, brooms), and mobile app site logging.

  • Abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in extreme winter conditions, maintain flexible availability for on-call shifts including early mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays during snow events, and adhere strictly to PPE and safety protocols.

Compensation & Total Rewards

Your rewards package is designed to support your daily success and long-term financial goals:

  • Competitive Hourly Wage: Based on experience and skill level.

  • Predictable Paychecks: Through our Alberta Hours of Work Averaging Agreement, we offer banked time to keep your pay steady during weather delays or seasonal shifts.

  • RRSP Matching Program: Company-matched contributions to help you save for the future.

  • Discretionary Incentives: Performance-based bonus opportunities offered at the Company’s discretion.

  • Gear & Modern Tools: We supply high-quality PPE, modern equipment, and clean machinery so you can work safely and efficiently ("Built for Busy").

  • Opportunity for Year-Round Growth: We actively retain top talent! High performers during the seasonal contract have the opportunity to transition into year-round roles across our landscape construction, grounds maintenance, and snow management divisions.

    • Health & Dental Benefits & RRSP Matching: Eligible after 1 year of continuous service
