The Assistant Team Leader assists the Team Leader in implementing the company’s policies, procedures and desire to provide outstanding customer satisfaction. Works closely with food service employees to ensure the daily routine and responsibilities are completed in accordance with the Team Leaders’s direction. Able to satisfactorily complete the Team Leader’s duties in their absence.
Specific Responsibilities
Customer Satisfaction
- Acts as a customer service role model to the rest of the food service staff – regularly provides fast, friendly, and effective interactions with customers
- Resolves all customer concerns, complaints or requests in a timely manner. Reports all customer feedback and actions taken to the Team Leader.
- Seeks advice from the Team Leader when limits of authority are unclear.
- Provides a clean, neat food service area with fresh and readily available food products.
- Acts as a role model to the rest of the food service staff with regards to company standards and expectations, safety and sanitation, and appearance and hygiene.
Management Responsibilities
- Can complete the daily administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Team Leader in accordance with company procedures.
- In the event the Team Leader is not available, the Assistant Team Leader is fully prepared to complete all the managerial duties.
- Positive role model for their fellow employees.
- Understands the chain of command and actions necessary in the event of an emergency.
Personnel
- Supervises employees in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Trains new employees according to the guidelines set forth by the company and the Team Leader.
- Assists in enforcing high standards of employee appearance, cleanliness, and dress code.
- Informs the Team Leader of employee concerns or lapses in operations.
- Communicates and enforces strict compliance with the company’s policy and procedures for all employees. Follows corrective action as directed by the Team Leader.
Merchandising and Promotions
- Executes all aspects of the company’s promotions, as requested by the Team Leader.
- Authorized Plan-o-grams are kept up to date.
- Work with the Team Leader on maintaining sufficient stock on-hand to satisfy customer demand and maximize customer satisfaction.
Productivity
- Completes and delegates shift duties to keep store conditions in accordance with Team Leader expectations.
- Assists the Team Leader in following up on daily shift duties.
- Ability to lead and motivate employees to be productive members of the food service team.
Restaurant Operations
- At the direction of the Team Leader completes re-stocking and ordering products with authorized business partners.
- Reports any damages to equipment or property to the Team Leader.
- Assist the Team Leader in the coordination of daily operations to provide a controlled, organized environment always.
Food Safety
- Assistant Team Leader must follow all food safety guidelines and state and local regulations to keep a safe and clean food preparation area and food service area.
- Food is to be kept at the required temperatures and within the freshness timelines.
- Assists and directs store employees on the importance of properly managing safe food.
Loss Prevention and Safety
- Strict adherence to vendor check-in policies.
- Inform Team Leader of any violation of policy, potential safety issues or lack of adherence to company expectations.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Strong people skills to motivate others.
- Proven capabilities in solving business challenges.
- Ability to set priorities and complete tasks.
- Results-orientated with a willingness to take responsibility and initiative.
- Enthusiastic, self-starter, with a high level of confidence and positive outlook
