Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Financial Operations Associate based in the United States.
This is a hands-on opportunity to own essential financial operations across a growing organization and its portfolio of early-stage businesses.
You will play a central role in keeping payments, invoicing, payroll, records, and other core financial workflows running smoothly.
The role offers broad exposure to multiple businesses rather than the narrower scope of a traditional finance position.
You’ll work closely with leadership in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where accuracy, responsiveness, and initiative are highly valued.
Beyond managing day-to-day processes, you’ll identify inefficiencies and take ownership of improving the systems behind them.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working in ambiguity, learning quickly, and expanding their responsibilities as the organization grows.
Occasional travel may be required as needed.
- Own the full accounts payable process across the organization and portfolio companies, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and vendor payments are made on time.
- Manage customer invoicing and support collections activities, following up on outstanding items and ensuring financial workflows remain on track.
- Prepare wire transfers and organize supporting information clearly for leadership review and approval.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors with payment-related questions, providing timely and effective responses.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records across accounting and operational systems, ensuring reliable sources of truth.
- Manage payroll cycles and coordinate related financial and administrative activities.
- Support equity issuance and related equity or cap-table administration.
- Monitor financial workflows to identify bottlenecks, errors, and opportunities for greater efficiency.
- Take ownership of process improvements by developing and implementing practical solutions rather than simply identifying problems.
- Collaborate closely with leadership and stakeholders across multiple businesses to ensure financial operations are accurate, timely, and scalable.
- Contribute to building and strengthening financial infrastructure as the organization and its portfolio continue to grow.
- Strong proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to organize, analyze, and maintain financial information accurately.
- Comfortable working with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and financial operations tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, responsiveness, and follow-through.
- Ability to learn quickly, execute efficiently, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Entrepreneurial and resourceful mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, zero-to-one environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break complex issues into clear, actionable steps.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to proactively address issues and recommend solutions.
- High ownership and low-ego approach, combining attention to operational detail with an understanding of broader business objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple financial workflows and priorities without losing accuracy or responsiveness.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, accounts payable/accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or a related field is preferred; a relevant degree may also be considered.
- Startup or early-stage company experience is a plus.
- Experience with HR operations or payroll processing is advantageous.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks, Campfire, Ramp, or comparable financial and operational platforms is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with full-cycle AP, invoicing and collections, wire transfers, payroll, equity administration, or multi-entity finance operations is highly valued.
- Remote work opportunity within the United States.
- Occasional travel as needed.
- Opportunity to work across multiple early-stage businesses, providing broad financial and operational exposure.
- Direct visibility into how lean, high-growth companies manage their finances and build financial infrastructure.
- Close exposure to experienced operators and leadership.
- Opportunity to take significant ownership and expand responsibilities as the organization grows.
- Fast-paced, entrepreneurial working environment focused on initiative, collaboration, and execution.
- Opportunity to contribute directly to process improvements and company-building initiatives.
