Position Summary
Stone Arch Advisory Group is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to serve as a core analytical resource within our Investment Department. This is a unique, dual-purpose role. The permanent foundation of the position is investment research, portfolio construction, due diligence, and proposal work in support of our advisors and their clients. Layered on top of that foundation is a defined, approximately six-month assignment providing direct capacity to our Planning Department during a period of significant firm growth.
This structure is intentional. The person in this seat will build genuine fluency in both how we construct portfolios and how we build comprehensive financial plans — and will then serve as the standing liaison between the Investment and Planning departments. We are looking for someone who sees the interim planning work not as a detour, but as the fastest available path to understanding how advice actually gets delivered at Stone Arch.
The planning support component will be formally revisited at the six-month mark. At that review, we will jointly assess firm needs, the individual's strengths and interests, and the appropriate long-term weighting of the role.
Role Allocation & the Six-Month Review
Focus Area | Months 1–6 (Initial Term) | Month 7 Forward (Post-Review) |
Investment Research & Portfolio Work | Approx. 60% | Approx. 85% |
Financial Planning Support | Approx. 40% | To be determined at review |
Investment Committee & SAAG Think Tank | Ongoing | Ongoing |
Percentages are directional and will flex with case volume, market conditions, and Investment Committee cycles. The six-month review is a scheduled, two-way conversation — not a contingency.
Core Expectations — Investment Analysis & Portfolio Construction
- Determine appropriate risk positioning based on each client's time horizon, risk preferences, return expectations, and prevailing market conditions.
- Create and implement investment proposals.
- Identify and analyze new investment opportunities for possible inclusion in client portfolios.
- Perform ongoing due diligence functions on existing investment options.
- Maintain a current and in-depth understanding of financial markets, market conditions, and economics.
- Perform economic and capital market research to help form views on asset allocation tilts within client portfolios.
- Initiate and process private security transactions — including initial subscriptions and capital calls — serving as backup to the primary owner of this function.
Core Expectations — Advisor Enablement & Client Support
- Assist with investment client review write-ups and supporting materials.
- Participate in systematic case prep meetings with advisors to prepare them on meeting content and reporting.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with clients, summarizing and translating analytics into language clients can act on.

Core Expectations — Firm Contribution & Compliance
- Participate as a contributing member of the Stone Arch Investment Committee.
- Help in the creation of the Stone Arch Investment ‘Think Tank’ program; with ongoing participation and execution.
- Serve as the liaison between the Planning Department and the Investment Department, ensuring alignment on recommendations, hand-offs, and case flow.
- Document client conversations and ensure compliance with industry rules governing investor disclosures, privacy laws, anti-money laundering requirements, and anti-fraud measures.
- Maintain personal continuing education credits and certifications — tracking expiration dates and meeting all deadlines to keep licenses and designations valid.
Planning Support Expectations (~6 Months, Then Revisited)
During the initial term, this role will provide direct analytical capacity to the Planning Department:
- Create, modify, and monitor comprehensive financial plans for clients and prospects.

- Desire and capacity to further financial education and pursue credentials (e.g., CIMA, CFA).
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other proprietary investment software.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A great team player who is equally excellent at working independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Driven, self-motivated, and hardworking, with a high degree of integrity, accuracy, and autonomy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and manage time effectively — setting priorities and consistently meeting deadlines.

What Success Looks Like
Success in the first six months means advisors trust this person's analysis without needing to re-check it, planning cases move faster because there is dedicated capacity behind them, and the gap between what the Planning Department produces and what the Investment Department implements measurably narrows. Longer term, success means this seat becomes the connective tissue between our two most technical departments.
Stone Arch Advisory Group is built on four core values — Communication, Collaboration, Accountability, and Trust. We are an equal opportunity employer.
