Job Summary
The Event Babysitter team member provides safe, attentive, and engaging care for children during weddings, retreats, corporate events, family gatherings, and other events hosted at Jimbo’s Club.
Children may range in age from infants through age 12, with responsibilities varying depending on the ages and needs of each group. Staff are responsible for supervising children, facilitating age-appropriate activities, assisting with basic care needs, and maintaining a safe, positive, and welcoming environment.
This is a flexible, event-based position, with scheduling driven by our event calendar rather than a fixed weekly schedule. Shifts may take place during morning, daytime, or evening hours, primarily on weekends. Some events may require only a few hours of coverage, while others may include multiple shifts throughout the weekend.
Key Responsibilities- Provide attentive supervision and care for children ranging primarily from ages 0–12
- Maintain a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for all children
- Engage children in age-appropriate games, crafts, recreation, and other activities
- Monitor children during both indoor and outdoor activities
- Assist with meals, snacks, bottles, and other basic care needs as appropriate
- Assist younger children with diapering, toileting, and changing when needed
- Help maintain nap, rest, or bedtime routines during applicable shifts
- Follow all parent/guardian instructions regarding allergies, dietary needs, medications, routines, and other individual considerations
- Recognize and respond appropriately to injuries, illness, behavioral concerns, or other situations requiring attention
- Communicate professionally and courteously with parents, guardians, other childcare staff, and Jimbo’s Club management
- Maintain appropriate child-to-staff supervision and remain alert and engaged throughout each shift
- Help set up and clean up childcare spaces, games, crafts, toys, and other supplies
- Work cooperatively with other babysitters and childcare staff when caring for larger groups
- Assist with transitioning children between activities, meals, and scheduled events
- Maintain clean and organized childcare areas throughout the shift
- Support general event operations when appropriate
- Perform other duties as required or requested by management to support the childcare program and event
Requirements: Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain active and attentive for extended periods
- Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and move comfortably while interacting with young children
- Ability to lift or carry infants, toddlers, supplies, or equipment as needed
- Comfortable supervising children indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to respond quickly and calmly when a child requires assistance
- Prior babysitting, childcare, camp, teaching, coaching, or similar experience required
- Experience working with infants and/or young children is especially valuable
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Responsible, dependable, patient, and attentive
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with children of varying ages and needs
- Positive, energetic, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy event environment
- Flexible availability, including weekends, mornings, afternoons, and evenings
- Must successfully complete any required hiring and background-check procedures
