JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for administrative and clerical duties for the CRAA Police department. This position reports to the Records Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Proofreads, interprets and ensures police reports are properly coded based on established agency standards and in accordance with SCIBRS and transmits monthly report to SLED; retrieves, interprets, and disseminates information for law enforcement computer systems, databases, and other sources; utilizes SCDMV online program to verify vehicle and license information; and distributes and receives reports of investigative details to/from other law enforcement agencies.
- Receives walk-in guests and telephone inquiries from a variety of individuals; initiates and receives calls, provides information and resolves matters, or routes calls.
- Interacts with police officers by telephone, radio, and in person to obtain or provide information; responds to special requests by officers attempting to obtain information by accessing law enforcement databases and manual files to locate information.
- Initially enters daily state citations, warning tickets, maintains parking tickets electronically in the computer system, and appropriately enters the disposition of completed state citations into the system and log; duplicates and distributes copies of police reports to officers, investigators, outside agencies, and other interested parties, applying public records and privacy laws and Authority policies in the release of information and documents.
- Receives, research, prepares and answers Rule 5 and FOIA requests; prepares confidential case files for Magistrate and General Session Court; collaborates closely with CRAA Attorneys, for case preparation and court documentation.
- Responsible for sealing and expunging official records as required by court orders.
- Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures, receives and reviews various documentation, and reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.
- Communicates with Aviation Authority officials, supervisor, other employees, clients, third party service contractors, court officials, local, state and federal agencies, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
- Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of experience in a related field of work.
- Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.
Specific License or Certification Required:
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
- Must maintain NCIC certification.
