Company Description

Payarc is a technology-driven payments company built to empower people and improve their organizations, one payment at a time. What began as smart, simple payment-processing tools and products has grown into a broader platform, backed by a team of world-class experts and top technology talent. We help new businesses get started, increase our customers’ revenues, and bridge the gap between merchants and modern payment solutions—giving companies the tools they need to change the future of their business.

Position Summary

The Software Engineer II is a mid-level engineering role responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions with limited guidance. This role owns features and components end-to-end and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality payment applications, services, and systems.

The Software Engineer II contributes across all phases of the software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis through deployment and ongoing support—and is expected to uphold Payarc’s engineering standards and secure, PCI DSS-compliant data-handling practices.

  • Build and integrate secure APIs and services, including payment-related functionality, in compliance with PCI DSS
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Participate in code reviews and pull requests—both giving and receiving constructive feedback—and follow engineering best practices

  • Debug, test, and resolve technical issues of moderate complexity, including production defects surfaced through monitoring tools
  • Contribute to system architecture and design discussions

  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools that improve development efficiency
