NeoGenomics is looking for a Principal Business Data Systems Analyst who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is an hybrid onsite position in Ramsey, NJ with a Monday - Friday, day shift.

Position Summary:

As the Principal Business Systems Analyst for the Test Compendium, you will serve as the senior technical and analytical owner for the technical design and business process enablement of NeoGenomics’ enterprise Test Compendium data model—the governed source of truth for master test and product data that feeds NeoLIMS, Billing, Analytics, the website, and downstream clinical and operational systems. This role translates business requirements into clear technical specifications, user requirement specifications (URS), data-model designs, Jiraready stories, and release-ready work for developer execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary collector and translator of business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements, including user requirement specifications (URS), datamodel designs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and developer-ready specifications
  • Own and evolve the Test Compendium data model—its tables, relationships, hierarchies, attributes, metadata, and related workflows—ensuring consistency, scalability, traceability, and data integrity across all environments
  • Provide overall platform strategy and advisory guidance, evaluating design trade-offs, managing technical debt, and ensuring the Test Compendium architecture aligns with enterprise systems and long-term business goals
  • Partner with the Enterprise Master Data Management team and Program Manager to shape and prioritize the Test Compendium roadmap, contributing technical feasibility, sequencing, level-of-effort estimates, and risk/dependency analysis
  • Manage and oversee developer work for the Test Compendium, providing technical direction, design oversight, configuration guidance, code/configuration reviews, and quality direction to ensure work is delivered and deployed during planned release windows

Experience, Educations and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical, data, information systems, life sciences, or business field
  • 12+ years of experience in business systems analysis, data modeling, or technical platform/application ownership
  • Healthcare, clinical laboratory, or diagnostics IT experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Demonstrated experience translating business requirements into technical specifications, URS documentation, data-model designs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience owning or configuring a complex enterprise data platform or masterdata/reference-data system (specific platform experience not required; ability to learn the platform is essential)
  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders on roadmap and prioritization, and with developers on delivery
  • Strong data-modeling and systems-design skills, with the ability to design for accessibility, efficiency, scalability, and data quality
  • Proven ability to decompose business needs into functional and technical requirements with clear traceability
  • Solid understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data-distribution patterns between enterprise systems


The Business Systems Analysis focus specializes in evaluating business challenges and identifying opportunities for automated solutions. Assists in analyzing, defining, and documenting system requirements and procedures to ensure solutions are cost-effective and aligned with business objectives. Responsible for developing specifications and conducting unit, integration, and acceptance testing to confirm that systems meet business needs.This role represents an enterprise expert and thought leader, addressing critical issues with complete autonomy while driving impact across the function or at the enterprise level.
