Role Description

The Training Manager is responsible for leading and managing the training and development function at Comlux America, ensuring employees receive the technical, regulatory, safety, quality, and operational training required to perform their roles effectively and in compliance with applicable requirements. This position develops and maintains training programs supporting aircraft completions, maintenance, engineering, production, safety, quality, and other business functions.

The Training Manager oversees the development and delivery of instructor-led, hands-on, and e-learning programs; maintains the company's Learning Management System (LMS) and training records; ensures training content remains current and compliant with applicable regulatory and company requirements; and evaluates training effectiveness to continuously improve employee capability and performance. The position partners closely with department leaders, Quality, Safety, Engineering, and Human Resources to identify training needs and develop programs that support employee development, operational excellence, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Job Functions

· Lead the development, implementation, and administration of Comlux America's training and development programs supporting aircraft completions, maintenance, engineering, production, safety, quality, and support functions.

· Develop and maintain comprehensive training curricula, including course materials, presentations, instructor guides, handouts, assessments, agendas, syllabi, practical exercises, and supporting documentation.

· Design and deliver technical, regulatory, safety, quality, and company-specific training programs using instructor-led, hands-on, multimedia, and e-learning methodologies.

· Partner with department managers and subject matter experts to identify training needs based on business requirements, regulatory requirements, employee performance, process changes, new equipment, new aircraft programs, and organizational priorities.

· Develop and maintain training requirements and curricula for employees based on position, department, regulatory requirements, and job responsibilities.

· Ensure training content remains current and accurately reflects applicable FAA, EASA, Part 145, AS9100/9110, manufacturer, company, and customer requirements, as applicable.

· Remain current with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), EASA requirements, and other regulatory requirements applicable to Comlux operations and ensure relevant changes are incorporated into training programs.

· Maintain the Comlux Learning Management System (LMS), including employee training records, course assignments, completion status, qualifications, recurring training requirements, and training documentation.

· Monitor training compliance and proactively identify overdue, expiring, or incomplete training requirements, partnering with department leadership to ensure timely completion.

· Establish and maintain an effective training records and documentation system that provides accurate and readily accessible evidence of employee qualification and training compliance.

· Develop and implement Train-the-Trainer programs to expand internal training capabilities and ensure consistency in training delivery.

· Coach, mentor, and support trainers and subject matter experts in effective instructional techniques, course delivery, assessment methods, and adult learning principles.

· Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, employee feedback, performance data, observations, and other appropriate measures, and implement improvements as needed.

· Maintain training metrics and prepare reports for leadership regarding training completion, compliance, effectiveness, participation, and other key performance indicators.

· Support internal, FAA, EASA, customer, and third-party audits by ensuring training programs, records, qualifications, and documentation are accurate, current, and readily available.

· Collaborate with Quality and Safety to ensure training programs support Repair Station requirements, quality system requirements, safety objectives, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Consult applicable aircraft manufacturer technical data, engineering documentation, company procedures, and other technical resources when developing or updating training content.

· Develop and support e-learning and digital training solutions to improve accessibility, consistency, and scalability of employee training.

· Incorporate innovative training methodologies, technology, and adult learning techniques to improve knowledge retention, employee engagement, and training effectiveness.

· Coordinate training schedules and resources to minimize disruption to production and operational activities while ensuring required training is completed on schedule.

· Maintain training calendars and coordinate training activities across multiple departments, shifts, and locations as required.

· Partner with Human Resources on employee development, onboarding, career development, leadership development, and other organizational training initiatives.

· Identify opportunities to improve training processes, systems, and methodologies to increase efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and strengthen employee capability.

· Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external training providers, instructors, vendors, and subject matter experts as required.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Aviation, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

· Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in aviation training, technical training, organizational development, or a related training environment.

· Prior experience developing and administering training programs within an airline, aerospace, MRO, Part 145 Repair Station, manufacturing, or other regulated environment strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated experience developing technical and regulatory training programs and instructional materials.

· Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS) and maintaining employee training records.

· Experience with Train-the-Trainer programs, instructional design, and adult learning methodologies.

· Working knowledge of FAA Part 145 requirements and aviation maintenance training requirements.

· Familiarity with EASA Part 145, AS9100/9110, and other aviation regulatory requirements preferred.

· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Required Skills and Abilities

· Strong instructional design and curriculum development skills with the ability to translate technical and regulatory requirements into effective training.

· Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional methodologies, and training evaluation techniques.

· Demonstrated ability to lead training initiatives and influence employees and leaders across multiple departments.

· Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple training programs, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and interpret training metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

· Proficiency with Learning Management Systems and training administration platforms; experience with Centrik or similar aviation training systems preferred.

· Experience utilizing multimedia, e-learning, and other technology-enabled training tools.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate training records and regulatory compliance.

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated operational environment.

· Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with Quality, Safety, Engineering, Production, Operations, and Human Resources.

· Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, regulatory compliance, employee development, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment

· This position is primarily based in an office environment and may require occasional time in an aircraft hangar or production environment. The role may involve:

· Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-demand aviation environment.

· Extended periods working at a computer

· Walking between office, hangar, and production areas as needed

· Interaction with cross-functional teams in office, shop-floor, and meeting settings
