Job Description

Summary of Primary Functions:

Dobbs Equipment is seeking a results-driven Milling & Paving Account Manager to develop and grow customer relationships within the road construction industry. This position is responsible for promoting and selling Wirtgen Group milling, paving, and compaction equipment while serving as a trusted advisor to contractors, municipalities, and road-building organizations.


The ideal candidate will possess strong construction equipment sales experience, extensive knowledge of asphalt paving operations, and a proven ability to identify opportunities, generate revenue, and deliver exceptional customer service. The Account Manager will be responsible for expanding market share, supporting customer success, and driving profitable growth throughout the assigned territory. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned)

Develop and execute a territory sales strategy focused on growing milling, paving, and compaction equipment sales. Prospect and establish relationships with new customers while maintaining and expanding existing accounts. Promote Wirtgen Group products, including Wirtgen milling machines, Vögele pavers, Hamm rollers, Kleemann crushers, and related attachments and technology solutions. Conduct equipment demonstrations, jobsite visits, and customer presentations. Identify customer operational needs and recommend equipment solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability. Prepare quotations, proposals, financing options, and equipment specifications. Manage the sales process from lead generation through delivery and post-sale support. Collaborate with service, parts, rental, and product support teams to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information within the CRM system. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regional road construction projects. Participate in industry associations, trade shows, customer events, and networking opportunities. Meet or exceed established sales, revenue, and market share objectives. Support customers with equipment replacement planning, fleet management discussions, and total cost of ownership analysis. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and ethical business practices.


Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Valid Driver’s License
Minimum of 3-5 years of successful equipment sales experience, preferably within road construction, asphalt paving, aggregate, or heavy equipment industries.


Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Construction Management, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.Bilingual communication skills are preferred.Strong understanding of milling, paving, compaction, and road-building operations. Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to analyze customer needs and provide consultative solutions. Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools. Must be able to travel and stay overnight as required.Must be available 24/7 for customer assistance calls.Problem solving, relationship building and ability to build and maintain customer relationshipsGood knowledge of the Paving and Milling business and customers’ needsMotivated, must work independently and ability to travel overnight. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving recordMust be proficient in Microsoft Office, business systems and excellent verbal and written communication skills


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

The employee frequently is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision.
