The Survey CAD Technician is responsible for processing survey field data and creating detailed, accurate drawings and maps using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. This role supports surveyors, engineers, and project managers by preparing plans, profiles, and other documents for construction, design, and land development projects. The Survey CAD Technician ensures that all drawings meet project specifications, company standards, and applicable regulations.

• Import, process, and manage survey field data collected by survey crews.
• Create detailed drawings, plats, topographic maps, and construction layouts using CAD software.
• Prepare plan and profile sheets, cross-sections, and as-built drawings.
• Review and verify accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations.
• Apply appropriate line work, symbols, layers, and annotation per company drafting standards.
• Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to clarify project requirements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain organized records of survey data and CAD files.
• Update existing drawings and files to reflect project revisions or field changes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, local regulations, and project specifications.

Assist with quality control by reviewing drawings for accuracy and completeness.

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certificate in drafting, surveying, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in survey drafting or CAD operation, preferably in civil or construction projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar CAD software.
• Understanding of survey principles, coordinate systems, and field-to-finish processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, survey notes, and legal descriptions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

• Primarily office-based role with occasional visits to field sites.
• Ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer.

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. of plans or equipment when needed.
