As we continue to expand nationally, we are seeking a Contracting Manager to oversee all aspects of agent and agency contracting operations across our carrier portfolio and lines of business.
Position SummaryThe Contracting Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Carepoint's Contracting Department. This role oversees agent onboarding, carrier appointments, hierarchy management, licensing verification, compliance monitoring, and carrier contracting relationships across all product lines.
The ideal candidate possesses strong operational expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and extensive experience working within insurance distribution, carrier contracting, and agency management environments.
This position works closely with Sales, Agency Services, Commissions, Compliance, Operations, and Carrier Relations teams to ensure a seamless experience for agents, agencies, and carrier partners.
Key ResponsibilitiesContracting Operations LeadershipManage and oversee all agent and agency contracting activities across Carepoint's carrier portfolio.
Develop and maintain contracting processes, workflows, and service standards.
Ensure timely processing of agent onboarding, appointments, transfers, releases, and hierarchy changes.
Monitor departmental performance and service-level expectations.
Manage contracting relationships with Medicare, ACA, Life, Supplemental, and Ancillary insurance carriers.
Coordinate appointment submissions, renewals, terminations, and hierarchy updates.
Serve as a primary operational contact for carrier contracting departments.
Maintain carrier-specific contracting requirements and procedures.
Monitor agent licensing, certifications, AHIP completion, and carrier training requirements.
Ensure agents meet all carrier and regulatory eligibility requirements prior to activation.
Partner with Compliance teams to maintain contracting integrity and regulatory adherence.
Assist with audits and carrier compliance reviews.
Provide contracting guidance and support to agencies, agents, and internal stakeholders.
Resolve contracting escalations and appointment issues.
Assist with onboarding new agency partners and large-scale recruiting initiatives.
Communicate contracting requirements and status updates effectively.
Maintain accurate contracting records across all internal and carrier systems.
Ensure data integrity related to agent hierarchies, appointments, carrier affiliations, and licensing information.
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Generate contracting reports and operational metrics for leadership review.
Supervise and develop contracting team members.
Establish performance expectations and operational goals.
Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and service excellence.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of insurance contracting experience.
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of agent onboarding, carrier appointments, hierarchy management, and licensing processes.
Experience working with Medicare, ACA, Life, or Ancillary insurance products.
Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working within an FMO, NMO, MGA, carrier, or large agency environment.
Knowledge of Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, PDP, ACA, Life, and Supplemental products.
Experience with contracting platforms such as SureLC, Agent Pipeline, Salesforce, or similar systems.
Experience managing carrier relationships and large-scale contracting operations.
