**MUST HOLD A SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER ASSOCIATE CERTIFICATION**

  • Performs client intake and orientation.
  • Maintains client records, community contacts and referrals.
  • Assists with diagnostic impression and Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) under supervision.
  • Monitors treatment plan compliance and client progress.
  • Provides referrals to appropriate services and community resources.
  • Assists with service coordination and case management for individuals with Substance Use Disorders.
  • Provides Substance Use Disorder education to individuals and groups.
  • Provides client, family, and community education related to Substance Use Disorders and recovery.
  • Learns core counseling competencies, including assessments, treatment planning, and facilitation of group and individual sessions.
  • Takes on counseling duties when proficiency is demonstrated and approved by the clinical supervisor.
  • Participates in ongoing training based on competency evaluations under the intensive supervision plan to perform screening, assessment, treatment planning and treatment plan implementation.
  • Completes timely insurance reviews or communicates needs to the supervisor or treatment team under supervision.
  • Prepares and completes all necessary documentation and record keeping.
  • Prepared individualized daily notes that accurately reflect the client’s progress and/or lack of progress.
  • Maintains knowledge of and adheres to The Walker Center policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competency related to confidentiality and ethical standards of the counseling profession.
  • Works effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team and utilizes clinical supervision appropriately.
  • Will learn, understand and utilize American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to document and interpret client care placement, treatment planning, and continuing care needs.
Requirements:
  • Must hold an Idaho Substance Use Disorder Associate certification.
  • Knowledge of addiction and its treatment, including familiarity with Alcoholics Anonymous philosophy.
  • If in recovery from a Substance Use Disorder, must have a minimum of three (3) years of sobriety from substances of use.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position including walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, and repetitive motions.
  • Must pass pre-hire requirements including a criminal background check, urinalysis (UA), and TB test.
  • Must obtain CPR certification within ninety (90) days of hire.
