Job Description
Position Summary
The Human Resources Associate provides administrative support to the HR Department, assisting with various HR functions including recruitment, employee records management, and handling HR-related inquiries.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Required to follow dress code policies of any alternative work locations, including but not limited to schools, jails, courts, detention centers, other community partners, etc.
- Assist with the recruitment process by posting job ads, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, reference checks and conducting background checks
- Coordinate onboarding and training sessions for new hires, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
- Conduct data entry and maintain accurate employee records in HR systems.
- Assist in organizing training and development programs for staff.
- Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all HR activities.
- Help organize HR-related events, such as recognition programs, workshops, etc.
- Assist with HR audits as needed.
- Assist with employment verifications.
- Assist in the development of new job descriptions and updating existing job descriptions.
- Assist HR Director with special projects and assignments as needed.
- Assist with credentialing and related tasks
- Other duties as assigned.
Credential and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field, or an associate’s degree
- Pass pre-employment background checks, and State of Kansas Adult/Child
- One to two years’ experience in the HR field, or any similar experience combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
- Familiarity with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Proficiency in data entry and HR administrative tasks
- Detail oriented, high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Working Conditions
- Office setting with occasional remote work options.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 10-15 pounds.
