Senior Clinical AI Nurse SME - 6 months contract

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Clinical AI Nurse SME - 6 months contract based in United States.

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced nursing professional to help shape the future of AI-enabled healthcare.
You will combine deep clinical expertise with an understanding of healthcare technology, data, and AI to improve the quality and accuracy of clinical solutions.
The position focuses on reviewing and labeling clinical data, evaluating AI model outputs, and resolving complex clinical discrepancies.
You will work closely with research, product, UX, and technical teams to translate real-world clinical workflows into meaningful AI requirements.
Your expertise will help ensure that AI solutions reflect clinical realities and deliver reliable, safe, and useful outcomes.
This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role suited to a clinician who is comfortable working extensively with data and emerging technologies.
The position is structured as a six-month contract with a variable weekday schedule of 24 hours per week.

Accountabilities
  • Review and label clinical data for alignment, agreement, accuracy, and consistency, while supporting the evaluation of annotations and AI model results.
  • Apply clinical expertise to healthcare workflows and electronic health record documentation, helping technical teams understand real-world clinical practices.
  • Identify, investigate, and help resolve disputes or discrepancies between clinical subject matter experts involved in data labeling and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with research, product, UX, and technical stakeholders to identify requirements and communicate complex clinical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advocate for clinical quality, safety, accuracy, and relevance across AI solutions by partnering with model development researchers, product leaders, and AI UX research and design teams.
  • Evaluate nuanced clinical concepts and accurately categorize clinical information according to defined criteria and labeling frameworks.
  • Support inter-annotator agreement and consistency by applying appropriate statistical measures and structured evaluation methods.
  • Perform detailed, computer-based data manipulation and review activities while maintaining accuracy and productivity across high-volume tasks.
  • Contribute clinical insights that help improve AI models, workflows, user experiences, and healthcare technology solutions.
  • Build consensus among clinical subject matter experts with different specialties, experience levels, and perspectives.
Requirements
  • RN or Nurse Practitioner degree with a valid, current professional license.
  • 7+ years of nursing experience, with long-term and post-acute care experience and/or management experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare informatics or equivalent technical and healthcare technology experience.
  • Practical understanding of AI concepts and terminology, including large language models, natural language processing, machine learning, hallucinations, omissions, and other common AI phenomena.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record workflows and clinical documentation practices.
  • Experience using healthcare technology products and data-labeling software.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and measures used to assess inter-annotator agreement and data consistency.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new software, technologies, systems, and technical concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to distinguish nuanced clinical concepts and organize them into clearly defined categories.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaboration and drive consensus among clinical experts with varying specialties and levels of expertise.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy when working with complex clinical data.
  • Ability to perform extensive computer-based data review and manipulation for prolonged periods when required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain sophisticated clinical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
